OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

2007-10-10 11:23:09

Jeep has outdone it's self with the Commander. I purchased the V8, 4.7L for towing a small camper. We travel extensively and the Commander pulls effortlessly uphill and through rugged terrain while giving a smooth and comfortable ride. Chrome accents and details inside the Commander put it in a class of it's own. The Commander comes standard with a Lifetime Power Train Warranty and 36 mo/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. We chose to extend that warranty to 5 yr/50,000 miles for an additional $900.00. An added bonus is the second passenger seat sunroof with shade that allows as much light into the vehicle as passengers need. The front passenger and driver have a larger sunroof with multipule opening options. The Commander comes with an excellent sound system. The third row seating is cramped for adults but children can effortly access the back seating. The second and third row seating fold down in one smooth operation for extra storage or hauling. There is also an individually operated rear airconditioner for back passanger comfort. We have greatly enjoyed our Commander over the past year. The Commander also all safety features available on the market today. I have not used the alternative flex fuel feature but may have to do so in the future depending on gas prices. All in all, the Commander is an outstanding choice in SUVs. I would purchase this vehicle again.

COULDNT ASK FOR ANYTHING ELSE, WE BOUGHT OUR COMMANDER WITH THE 4.7 V8 AND GET OK G/M BUT OVERALL EXCELLENT. NO PROBLEMS EVEN WITH BUYING A DEMO THE BOSS HAD WITH 3,000 MILES ON IT. WE GOT OURS WITH REBATE AND EMPLOYEE DISCOUT AND WHAT THE DEALER TOOK OFF FOR 25,000 $ ANF ITS A LIMITE WITH ALL THE FEATURES. JEEP- HUMMER RESCUE! ALSO THE KNN AIR FILTER GAVE ME ABOUT ANOTHER 1.5 MPG

King of the road

This baby's got it all. Fully loaded. Smoothes out the potholes. Cheeseballs don't dare cut you off or mess. BMW's genuflect. Amazing interior room and comfort. Great on wet, slick roads. Lots of power, acceleration and towing capability. Test drive the other big SUV's, then go buy this one. Gas mileage isn't great, but if that matters, buy a Prius.

Very uncomfortable

2007-10-01 12:34:05

Rented a brand new vehicle while on vacation. Storage space was limited, back seats very uncomfortable. Driver seat very confined. I am not a tall person, yet i kept hitting my knees while getting in and out of vehicle. Dash comes very low. If you get into a collision in this vehicle, i don't know how you wouldn't lose your legs or have them crushed. Driving vehicle was nice, had good pick up, but other than that hated the vehicle. Would never waste my money on one. Also has alot of blind spots.

2008 Commander

I drove one of these for about three weeks as a rental. This is by far the unsafest car I have ever driven. The blind spot which I know all vehicles have is terrible. If the third row seat is up then the rearview mirror is virtually useless. This car is going to cause lots of accidents!!!!!

Extremely ugly

2007-10-01 01:26:00

this is sooo ugly

i purchased new jeep in 2004

2 months after warranty both windows broke

a/c leaks

had to replace brakes first year i had it (not due to my driving)

your best best is to buy a car with a longer warranty 5 years is good. i am still paying for my jeep plus what every breaks on it.

oh yeah i had to get rotors turned last year

jeeps are like they used to be.

my next suv will have 5 year warranty

you can always buy extended warranty - that should be your first indication that it will start breaking down at the 3 year mark.

Love it!

My husband and I purchased our Commander a few months ago. The front seats are very roomy and very comfortable. We are a family of 7 and were concerned with the very small amount of leg room in the third row. However, all fit just fine without any complaints from the kids.. That's including a carseat and 3 teenagers! Also, we got a great price on it which included all the bells and whistles. Great pickup, too! The one and only drawback we have is it does get terrible gasmileage, but we knew this at purchase...and it's not a big difference between the gas mileage of any other large SUV.

Jeep Commander Roof Leak

2007-09-30 08:48:00

To "AOL user". Our Commander had a sunroof leak and the dealer fixed it. Mopar was aware of the problem and apparently they have a repair kit.

Two things we don't like about the car. The fuel economy (Hemi) is horrible. The third seat is practically useless, they could do away with that and have a killer second row seat with legroom and enough cargo space behind it to take the dog.

Review of 2008 Jeep Commander

I love the Jeep I'm in!! We just downsized from a Suburban. The Jeep is fun and easy to get around. For a family of six, it's definitely a tighter fit than the Suburban, but with the two older kids now driving, it's rare that we're all in the Jeep at the same time. When we do pack everyone up for a drive, I just look at it as family bonding.
