Constitute the issue with Quick access Recent files doesn't stick in Windows ten: Its but a setting which conflicts in the beginning menu settings: Right click on the task bar => select Settings. Later, get to the get-go settings (left column) and ensure that "Show recently opened items in jump lists on start or taskbar" is ON.
That'southward all. After this setting has been attack, the Quick access Contempo files now works once again.

I establish this helpful, considering it sent me in the correct management. Simply what you included in how to practice it didn't work for me. I had to discover Start Settings in a different mode. I correct clicked on the desktop and selected Personalization so Start. At the bottom of the list, I turned off the "Evidence recently opened items in Jump List on First or the Taskbar", closed the dialogue and and then repeated the steps above to open up the dialogue once more and turned information technology on. It cleared the cache of Recent Folders and Recent Files and started fresh. It works again. My organisation would just bear witness random files that I had been to, but not recently.

Thank you very much rimartin000. I tried LucRjik's proposition starting time and had the aforementioned trouble with his didactics not working merely your instructions worked perfectly.
In my case, the 'Evidence recently opened particular in Jump List' was not even turned on and then I just turned it on. Then I went 1 footstep farther and chose which files/folders I wanted showing. Hey presto! I've at present got exactly what I desire showing when I click File Explorer in my Job Bar.
I'chiliad going to copy your instruction into a OneNote folio just in case it happens once again, then I won't accept to go hunting for the method. Again, give thanks yous.

Gotta love the Houston-we-have-a-issues-only-allow's-make-the-user-do-something-extraordinarily-bizarre-and-unintuitive-and-potentially-dangerous-and-isn't-a-permanent-set solution. Heckuvalot easier than the trial-and-error method or throw-darts-at-an-empty-wall method, I suppose.
=smh=
Here is a solution that worked for me with Win x:
i) Open the Control Console.
ii) Enter "Start" into the meridian-heart text box/widget without the quotes.
3) Click "Evidence all results".
iv) Curlicue downwardly and click "Start Settings"
(n.b., if y'all enter "Outset Settings" in Pace two, yous may not get this result! Don't ask me why!)
5) Await for "Evidence recently opened items in Jump Lists on First or the taskbar".
6) Select "On" below that particular.
"Recent Files" should appear in the File Explorer/Quick Access folder.
If not, open a not-plan file (any document, photo, etc, should do),
and that should create the "Recent Files" listing in the File Explorer/Quick Access folder.
I believe the list is limited to the virtually recent 20 items,
but, that'south more than plenty for me.
Expert luck!
